Hosta Sieboldiana Elegans

Hosta Sieboldiana Elegans is an old popular Hosta plant that has been commonly found in shade gardens for many years.  This Hosta in excess of 2ft x 3ft.  It has very large blue leaves that are ribbed and heart-shaped.

Hosta Elegans is sometimes thought of as the grandfather of the blue hosta plants.  Other species do have the blue/grey leaf color but Elegans was one of the first to show this coloration.

If you have a large shade garden this perennial plant may be an option to consider for a specimen plant that will really stand out.  It would have a hard time fitting into a smaller garden though and it is very sun intolerant so make sure that you have fairly dense shade and none of that tricky part shade stuff.

The perennial Hosta Sieboldiana Elegans is a great shade garden plant.
